Memorial to a Battle crew - Lamaronde, France

Following the excavation of Fairey Battle L5546 in 2005, the people of Lamaronde,
wanted to erect a permanent memorial to the crew. A propeller blade recovered
from the crash site was restored by friends of the recovery team and mounted on
the wall of the Mairie, together with a plaque.

On May 8th 2006, the memorial was unveiled in a ceremony attended by relatives
of the crew, local dignitaries, members of today's No.12 Squadron, the RAF
Air Attaché to Paris, the ground engineer who saw the crew off in 1940, and
members of the recovery team.

66 years on a new generation pays its respects to the crew.
