The Association Normande du Souvenir
Arien 39-45 (ANSA 39-45) recovered the remains of a Junkers
Ju88 at Ypreville-Biville (Seine Maritime). It was Werknummer
140521, coded B3+GK from II./ KG54. This plane, piloted by
the Lt Wolfgang Zimmermann, had been shot by anti-aircraft
fire and night fighters on July 26, 1944 at 01.15 hours. The
four crew members had baled out of the plane before the crash.
ANSA 39-45 unearthed one of the two Jumo 211 motors and various
other pieces. The first motor had been recovered a few years
ago by the owner of the farm.
